GreaterGood.org Gives Over 4,000 Toys to Shelter Pets
A generous in-kind grant from GreaterGood.org’s Rescue Bank program gave over 4,000 cat scratchers, toys, collars, and more to the cats and kittens in medical isolation at Pima Animal Care Center. On any given day during the summer months there are over 200 cats and kittens in medical isolation at the shelter. These gifts will help the cats and kittens in Pima Animal Care Center’s lifesaving ringworm ward stay happy, healthy, and socialized throughout their treatment. Because ringworm is highly contagious, we go through toys very quickly in the ward. Toys are left in the kennels with the cats and are only disposed of when the cats are moved to the adoption floor or go out to a foster home.
While a home is always the best place for a pet to be, we try to make their time in the shelter as comfortable as possible. With donations like this one from GreaterGood.org we are improving the quality of life for pets in the shelter.
