Lend a Paw for Giving Tuesday Now

Giving Tuesday Now is a global giving movement that brings everyone together for the causes they care most about. We hope you will join Friends of Pima Animal Care Center (PACC) on this special day to share with the world how much you care about homeless pets in our community. Keep reading for six ways you can give back this #GivingTuesdayNow.

While many kennels at the shelter are unusually empty thanks to our community’s huge response to our foster pleas, PACC is still taking in 30-40 emergency cases every single day, and continues to regularly house over 140 cats, dogs, and other pets in need.

Homeless pets at Pima Animal Care Center (PACC) need you now more than ever. By lending a paw and making a gift this #GivingTuesdayNow you are providing direct relief to the pets in our community who are most in need. Not only do we serve over 18,400 pets every year, but their families too, by providing monetary assistance with vet care, food, fencing supplies, and more.

With families struggling to make ends meet it's more important now than ever before that we support our community's pets. PACC is a safety net for pets whose owners are hospitalized, who can no longer afford their care, or need assistance caring for their pets so they can keep everyone together at home. Your gifts helps us keep pets out of the shelter and in loving homes, and ensure that every pet who does need sheltering gets the best care possible.

We kindly ask that you join us in supporting the only open-admission shelter in Pima County, and the only local shelter that never turns away a pet in need. Your gift will help provide immediate financial support so the shelter can purchase essential pet food, medicines, supplies, and more. The official event is May 5, 2020, but you can get started today with one or more of our six ways to give back, below.

Six Ways to Lend a Paw to PACC Pets for Giving Tuesday Now

Invest: Make a tax-deductible donation to Friends of PACC and your dollars will go directly to shelter needs as they emerge. This fundraiser is being held on the Go Fund Me Charity platform to take advantage of their charitable match for #GivingTuesdayNow. If we reach $1,000, Go Fund Me Charity will match those dollars!

Foster: Fosters are still needed for medium and large dogs who prefer to be “only children,” shy adult cats, and other pets with medical needs. If you have it in your heart to care for one of these extra special lives, please visit pima.gov/foster to sign up.

Donate Supplies: You can send critical supplies directly to the shelter via our Amazon Charity List at http://bit.ly/shoppaccpets.

Share The Work You Make Possible: Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and share your favorite pet stories and info with your social networks to spread the word about helping homeless pets in Pima County.

Volunteer:  Make masks for PACC staff, organize a pet food and supplies drive in your neighborhood using this flier, craft snuffle mats and cat toys to keep pets in the shelter happy and healthy while they await their next home.

Thank you for being a part of this exciting day of global giving.
