Cameo's Journey: From Shelter to Forever Home with TOP Dogs' Help
For many PACC staff and volunteers, this is a very special #HappyTail. Sweet boy Cameo was a favorite at PACC but struggled to find a home and spent quite a while with PACC. His new mom eventually saw his picture on the website and fell in love with his smile, coming to the shelter just to meet him! She took him home to foster and, after two weeks, decided she was in love and sealed the deal! She says, "This dog is so sweet...he loves to sleep by my side. Loves treats and loves walks and playing tug o' war."
Cameo is an amazing dog, but like many, he's needed a little extra help adjusting to his new life. Cameo's family has been lucky to have the support of the TOP Dogs volunteer team, who work with dogs in the shelter as well as offer help with training for fosters and recently-adopted PACC dogs to help them stay in their homes.
TOP Dogs is one of the many life-saving programs supported by Friends of Pima Animal Care Center. The mission of TOP Dogs is to help savable dogs at Pima Animal Care Center that are most at risk of not finding homes due to behavioral needs. TOP Dogs provides training, enrichment, and other care needed to help these great dogs be all they can be.
One way dogs are supported is through the Canine Fun Camp program. This training program helps facilitate behavioral changes, build life skills, and teaches agility as a healthy outlet for canine energy. You can keep up with all of TOP Dogs’ updates by following their Facebook page and YouTube.
