Top Five Saves - #1 - Señor's Fighting Chance
Señor’s recovery is an example of the miracles that happen when our whole community comes together to save a life. His care simply would not have been possible our donors, the tireless care of PACC staff and volunteers, and his loving foster family. Found abandoned and unable to move, and so painful and scared that he would try to bite staff any time they touched him, he has finally come full circle.
Will you help us save the next abandoned pet by making a donation in Señor’s honor?
Señor went home with an experienced clinic staff member for the weekend, but they knew immediately that he would be their long-term foster. He was diagnosed with severe valley fever that impacted his bones, he developed a skin infection from draining tracts, and lost most of his fur. He was also diagnosed with dry eye on his left eye and vision impairment on his right eye due to glaucoma. Despite his terrible condition this older pup was spunky and full of personality.
Señior went to work with his foster every day since he was unable to get to food and water on his own. He had to be propped up and moved often to prevent bed sores. Thanks to Friends of PACC donors, Señior received aggressive valley fever treatment and eventually started gaining weight, holding himself sternal, and was more happy in general.
Once his skin healed, he started swimming therapy at A Loyal Companion (curtesy of the awesome clinic volunteers) and got a cart! Being a true bulldog, Señor just napped when he was in his cart but scooted himself more and more around the house. After months of therapy and hard work, Señor attempted to stand and finally started walking.
While Señor will always battle valley fever and aging, now his days are spent lounging outside enjoying the sunshine or cuddling on the couch with his people.
Thank you for making his miracle possible.
